The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved operating license applications to three cryptocurrency exchanges and one broker-dealer.
Thailand’s ministry of finance said it had “granted digital asset business licences to four applicants,” the Thai SEC announced. The three approved exchanges are Bx, Bitkub, Satang Pro. The approved broker-dealer is Coins Th Co. Ltd.
In total there were seven applications, which were made back in August 2018. Out of the seven, two exchanges were rejected (Cash2coin Co. Ltd. and Southeast Asia Digital Exchange Co. Ltd.) because “applicants failed to meet the approval criteria regarding important work systems.”
The exchange still under review, Coin Asset Co. Ltd. , will continue to operate until a decision is made. The delay is due to “a change of company executives, which is material information for the consideration of the application,” the commission stated.
